Dr. Blaine Tully, Ag.Dipl., DVM
Dr. Tully is a partner at Swine Health Professionals. His work includes on farm health monitoring, monitoring and improving farm production parameters, CQA/ACA validation, and regulatory inspection of export hogs. He is also a provincially appointed Animal Protection officer, and will investigate animal welfare complaints related to swine operations on behalf of the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer of Manitoba.
Dr. Brad ChappellSwine Veterinarian, Partner
Dr. Brad Chappell, BSA, DVM
A partner in Swine Health Professionals, Dr. Chappell’s work includes breeding stock and commercial on farm health monitoring, improving farm production parameters, CQA/ACA validation, and regulatory inspection of export hogs.
Dr. Chappell works closely with the Manitoba Pork Council to deliver National Biosecurity Standards, is actively involved in creating SDS Veterinary Data Analytics, and is also a part of the National Disease Surveillance working group. Focusing on disease surveillance on a farm level, Dr. Chappell looks at the link between health and production parameters to measure the impact of disease.
Candace HentonOffice & Veterinary Support
All of the work involved with lab submissions received at SHP (spinning blood samples, labeling, lab documentation, and submitting samples) is done by Candace. She also handles the health certificates for boar stud entry, and takes care of all prescriptions; – contacting producers when their prescriptions are getting low or close to expiry.
Another responsibility of Candace’s is CQA and ACA processing: ensuring producer manuals are up to date and accurate, uploading the paperwork to our secure database, and sending paperwork to Manitoba Pork. Her highly efficient manner allows us to count on her for other general office tasks as they arise.
Dennis RoblesProduction Support
Dennis Robles, BSA
Dennis is indispensable. He assists our veterinarians from on farm production monitoring, troubleshooting and staff training, pre CQA evaluations, to collection and submission of samples as required. Scheduling and coordinating CIPARS (Canadian Integrated Program for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance), PigCHAMP software sales & support, and coordinating, planning & implementing on-farm trials of pharmaceutical products are all on his list of responsibilities. Dennis is also a Pig Care Specialist, Improvest Specialist and PCAI trainer for SHP.

Dr. Demare is the most recent addition to our team. Her work includes on farm health monitoring, monitoring and improving farm production parameters, CQA/ACA validation, and regulatory inspection of export hogs and the collection and submission of samples as required.
Jolante PoirierExport Co-ordinator
Jolante’s primary responsibility as our export co-ordinator is the creation of the export health certificates, which allow producers to export to the USA and Mexico. This involves timely communication and coordination between the brokers, USDA, and CFIA in order to get the paperwork processed. Her exceptional organizational and computer skills allow us to also count on her for general reception tasks, transcribing, bio-security audits, as well as uploading client files to our secure site.
Our Team wouldn’t be complete without Pam, our bookkeeper. Invoicing, creating statements, payroll, bank reconciliation, processing mail – Pam’s long list of responsibilities require diligent attention. We love her positive attitude that she brings to our team and office.
She is also responsible for making deposits, bill payments, vet reimbursements, GST and Corporate Tax Remittance, journal entries, financial reports, and year end reports.

Dr. Wadie P. Ariza, DVM
Dr. Ariza is one of our associate veterinarians. His work includes on farm health monitoring, monitoring and improving farm production parameters, biosecurity on farm enhancement and audits, CQA/ACA validation, and regulatory inspection of export hogs and the collection and submission of samples as required. Dr. Ariza also specializes in the auditing of animal welfare.
